Trial Period Partners and Funding
Scottish Government Funders
This Trial Period campaign was initiated by the Communities and Local Government team at Scottish Government, working on activity around access to free sanitary products and tackling period poverty more widely following Scottish Government commitment in the 2018 Programme for Government. The campaign is also being co-funded by the Zero Waste and Marine Scotland departments of Scottish Government to reduce waste, tackle marine litter and promote wider re-use behaviours.
Trial Period is also supported by the European Regional Development Fund through the £73million Resource Efficiency Circular Economy Accelerator Programme.
To offer a limited number of free trial period products, we’ve teamed up with Hey Girls, a “Buy One Give One” social enterprise fighting period poverty. All the profits from their “Buy One Give One” products go directly to help girls and young women in need. Hey Girls is Scottish-based and stocks a full range of environmentally friendly period products – including menstrual cups and reusable cloth pads.
Join in the conversation online using #TrialPeriod to share your experiences of reusable period products.
